I'm always trying to show these guys to people, they were a British art school band that formed with a chap by the name of Vivian Stanshall in the 60s. They were friends with Monty Python and had a recurrent gig with them on British television called "do not adjust your set". What I think is most impressive is that they were said to have given the guys from Monty Python the idea that being silly was cool, which says something. This is really just a sample of them and more stuff can be found by them on youtube. I think they have a place on this blog because of the absurd nature of their work -- really though, Vivian Stanshall is to be given the most credit. He was a true eccentric and whatever he did was at best highly original and at worst completely out of left field. It can be safely said that he got people's attention and this is what he shares with the grotesque -- deviant ideas that make light of the rational and conventional. ENJOY!
